'Inside the Panthers: Hockey on the Hudson' premieres Oct. 18 on FOX Sports Florida
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Pack your bags and come along with the Florida Panthers as they embark on a three-day trip to the United States Military Academy for training and team building. On Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10:00 p.m., FOX Sports Florida, the regional television home of the Panthers, will premiere a brand new episode of "Inside the Panthers" upon conclusion of the Florida vs. Washington Capitals game. Titled "Hockey on the Hudson," this episode goes behind the scenes with the organization on their recent trip to West Point, where Panther players went through a series of military exercises and scenarios, working together to accomplish a "mission."
Hosted by Drew Goldfarb, "Inside the Panthers: Hockey on the Hudson" features interviews with Panthers owner Vincent Viola, Assistant to the General Manager Erik Joyce and Executive Vice President Matthew Caldwell, all of whom are West Point graduates and former officers in the U.S. Army. Players interviewed while at West Point include Willie Mitchell, who was named team captain after the entire squad completed a hike up Thorne Mountain in upstate New York, as well as teammates Erik Gudbranson, Scottie Upshall, Nick Bjugstad, Brian Campbell, Aaron Ekblad, Jussi Jokinen, Shawn Thornton and Sean Bergenheim. Sound from Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon, as well as 26-year Army veteran JB Spisso, who is a Panthers performance consultant and designed the training exercises for the West Point trip, wrap up the must-watch episode.
