TAMPA, Fla. -- On Thursday, Nov. 14, at 10:30 p.m., Sun Sports, the regional television home of the Tampa Bay Lightning, will premiere the next episode of "Inside the Lightning" upon conclusion of the Lightning vs. Anaheim Ducks game. Titled "Celebration of the Arts," this episode will provide viewers with an enlightening look at a judged competition between artwork from local Tampa Bay area artists. The top works are currently displayed at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

More than 350 works of art were submitted and 41 were selected by Tampa area museum directors and Penny Vinik, who chaired the competition and is a new trustee at the Tampa Museum of Art. Viewers will get a firsthand look at the voting process, as well as highlights from local artists, culminating in the awards ceremony. Four of the judges are top professionals from the area, including Todd Smith, Executive Director of the Tampa Museum of Art, Dr. Hank Hine Director of the Salvador Dali Museum, Steven High, Executive Director of the Ringling Museum and assistant curator Katherine Pill from the Museum of Fine Arts.

At each Lightning home game, an art winner from the competition is featured on the big screen in the Tampa Bay Times Forum. The 41 works of art are currently on the display in the Executive Suite level until next season. Artists highlighted include Marlon Huynh, Galen Burow and Nicole Abbett.
