Injury bug continues to bite Cowboys' linebackers

With two starting linebackers already out for Sunday's game at the Giants, the Cowboys were hit with more bad news Thursday.

DeVonte Holloman missed practice with a neck injury. Holloman was slated to start Sunday at strongside linebacker in place of Justin Durant, who is out with a hamstring injury.

Starting middle linebacker Sean Lee is also out with a bad hamstring. Ernie Sims is expected to take his place in the lineup, with weakside linebacker Bruce Carter wearing the headset to make play calls that Lee would normally make.

Holloman himself had been out an extended period with the neck issues and had only recently returned to practice.

The Cowboys signed linebacker Orie Lemon off the Cardinals' practice squad Thursday. Lemon should know his way around Valley Ranche since he was originally signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2011.

The Cowboys released cornerback Micah Pellerin to make room for Lemon.
