CLEVELAND, OH -- The Cleveland Indians have re-signed RHP MATT CAPPS to a Minor League contract with a non-roster invitation to Major League spring training camp.

Capps, 30, was signed by Cleveland last January 31 but was relegated to 7 spring training and 6 regular season relief appearances (AAA Columbus) before undergoing season-ending right shoulder surgery on June 5.

Capps owns an 8-year career Major League record of 29-33 with 138 saves and a 3.52 ERA in 444 relief appearances with Pittsburgh, Washington and Minnesota since debuting with the Pirates in 2005 (439.2IP, 439H, 172ER, 84BB, 319K). In 2012, Matt saved 14 of his 15 chances with the Minnesota Twins before being sidelined in the second half with shoulder inflammation.
