India on 87-3 at lunch on Day 1 of 3rd test in West Indies
GROS INLET, St. Lucia (AP) West Indies dismissed Lokesh Rahul moments before lunch as India reached the interval on just 87-3 on the opening day of the third test on Tuesday.
Rahul had just reached his half-century when he was caught by Kraigg Brathwaite off the bowling of Roston Chase.
After winning the toss and putting India into bat, West Indies started well by taking two early wickets. Shikhar Dhawan (1) was caught behind off paceman Shannon Gabriel, before captain Virat Kohli fell to 19-year-old debutant seamer Alzarri Joseph for just three runs.
Rohit Sharma (9) and Ajinkya Rahane, on 17 runs, were at the crease at lunch.
West Indies has slowly grown into the series, following a spirited fightback to draw the second test in Jamaica.
India currently leads the four-test series 1-0.
