In Wednesday's first update on National League All-Star Game voting, Miami Marlins Dee Gordon and Giancarlo Stanton were in position to start.

Gordon, who paces all NL second basemen with 934,249 votes, entered Wednesday leading the league in average (.368) and the majors in hits (70). He made the All-Star team as a reserve last season as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Stanton has the third-most votes (746,926) amongst NL outfielders, behind the Washington Nationals' Bryce Harper (1,116,582) and the St. Louis Cardinals' Matt Holliday (979,008). A two-time All-Star in 2012 and 2014, Stanton is tied for second in the NL in homers (13) and tied for first in RBI (42).
