* The Rays broke open a 3-2 lead with four runs in the sixth inning on a night when the Yankees were eliminated from the playoff picture. Tampa Bay left-hander David Price allowed two runs and six hits in seven innings, and the Rays chased right-hander Phil Hughes after he gave up three runs and seven hits in two. * David Price ended a five-start winless streak, Evan Longoria hit two home runs and the Tampa Bay Rays won their sixth in a row, beating the New York Yankees 8-3 Wednesday night to move closer to clinching an AL wild-card berth.
