* Dwyane Wade scored 29 points, 11 in the fourth quarter, and the Miami Heat held off the Los Angeles Clippers 102-97 on Thursday night. LeBron James added 18 points for the Heat (4-2), who won their third straight and extended their club record by scoring at least 100 points in a sixth consecutive game to start the season. Read More

* About 270 miles separate Sun Life Stadium from Raymond James Stadium, but the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have only met nine times in the regular season since the Bucs' first campaign in 1976. The series is as close as it can be, with the Dolphins leading the Bucs 5-4. Both teams own three-game winning streaks against the other, and Tampa Bay holds a slight edge in scoring, 206-203. * In University of Miami men's head basketball coach Jim Larrañaga's 30 years in the collegiate ranks of the sport, never has he led a team returning zero starters from the previous season. Read More

* After capturing the program’s first ACC tournament title in March 2012, the Florida State men's basketball team was forced to rebuild after half its roster graduated. Florida State went 18-16 in 2012-13 but fell short of the NCAA Tournament. Read More

* Three former football stars were announced as part of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame's Class of 2014. Current Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson, as well as former NFL players Clinton Portis and Lamar Thomas, will be honored at halftime of the Hurricanes' home finale against Virginia on Nov. 23.
