If visiting second graders is cool, consider Cards' Matt Carpenter Miles Davis
ST. LOUIS -- Thankfully for the St. Louis Cardinals, Matt Carpenter is no Billy Madison. But the third baseman does know what it's like to go back to elementary school.
No, really, sandwich-eating bus driver, he actually does know what it's like.
Carpenter took time Wednesday to visit a second grade classroom at a St. Louis-area school. One of the students, A.J., attended the All-Star's baseball camp last summer and won a raffle, which resulted in the big leaguer's appearance.
Matt Carpenter posted these pictures on Twitter along with this message: 'Thank you AJ for bringing me to your school today!! #2ndgrade'
Carpenter spent about an hour answering questions, and although he says he felt a little like the Adam Sandler character, it was a pretty great experience. "I had an awesome time," the 29-year-old told FOX Sports Midwest's Jim Hayes before the Cardinals' game against the Brewers on Wednesday.

I wonder, though, did he have to spell "couch" to leave the second grade? If he did, would he be considered THE SMARTEST MAN ALIVE!?
So thank you, Matt Carpenter. Not only did you provide a bunch of second graders with an experience they likely never will forget, you also gave many adults a reason to reel off endless Billy Madison quotes.
