CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- The 2013-14 University of Miami men’s basketball team will begin to try to compile a good Legacy on Nov. 28, it was announced Wednesday.

That's when the Hurricanes will open their season in the inaugural Wooden Legacy against George Washington at Cal State Fullerton's Titan Gym. The Nov. 28-Dec. 1 tournament will move to the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., for the final day's games.

Other teams playing in the tournament include Arizona State, Cal State Fullerton, College of Charleston, Creighton, George Washington, Marquette and San Diego State.

Miami, which lost two previous games (1971, 1991) against George Washington, will face either Marquette or Cal State Fullerton in the second round. The Hurricanes are 2-2 against Marquette, which beat UM in last season's NCAA tournament Sweet 16. The Canes have not played Cal State Fullerton.

The Wooden Legacy was formed when the former John R. Wooden Classic and the Anaheim Classic combined into one tournament.

Six of the competing eight teams advanced to postseason play last season, including Miami, Creighton, Marquette and San Diego State in the NCAA tournament.
