The University of Miami men's basketball team announced it will compete in next year's Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

The Hurricanes will be one of eight teams participating from Nov. 19-22, 2015, in San Juan, joining Butler, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri state, Temple, Texas Tech and Utah.

Junior point guard Angel Rodriguez grew up in Cupey, Puerto Rico, until he was 15 years old and still has family there. Miami last played in the tournament in 2007, beating Marist, VCU and Providence to capture the title.

Through two games this season, the unranked Hurricanes are 2-0. They upset No. 8 Florida on Monday night and open play at the Gildan Charleston Classic on Thursday afternoon against Drexel.
