When Tyler Holt was optioned back to Columbus, Terry Francona said that the outfielder would be back at some point this season. It ended up being two days later.
Before Tuesday's game against Minnesota, the Indians placed Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to yesterday and recalled Holt. Raburn, who is on the DL for the fourth time in his Major League career, has battled soreness in his right wrist for most of the season and aggravated it after making a diving catch in last Wednesday's doubleheader against Arizona.
Raburn has been one of the more disappointing players on the Indians this season. After batting .272 last season, he is hitting only .191 this year with three home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games.
Holt begins his fourth stint with the Indians this season and is batting .385 (5 for 13). Among Tribe minor leaguers, Holt leads the system in stolen bases (31), is second in runs scored (74) and fourth in batting average (.305) as he spent time in Akron and Columbus.
