Heritage Hall ends Locust Grove's season

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) A day after an Oklahoma court preserved Locust Grove's controversial victory over Oklahoma City Douglass, Locust Grove lost to Oklahoma City Heritage Hall 53-42 on Friday night in the Class 3A semifinals.

The semifinal was delayed a week as Douglass went to court seeking to replay at least part of the game. An improperly enforced penalty took a late Douglass touchdown off the board in the quarterfinals two weeks ago and Locust Grove held on to win.

Douglass appealed to the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association, which rejected its appeal, then asked an Oklahoma County District Court judge to order a replay. The judge ordered the Locust Grove-Heritage Hall game to be delayed a week while he heard arguments.

Locust Grove led 42-39 early in the fourth quarter before two quick touchdowns by Heritage Hall finished off the Pirates. Locust Grove quarterback Mason Fine threw six touchdown passes in the loss.

Heritage Hall advanced to play Cushing in the final.
