ATLANTA — Rookie guard Dennis Schroder of the Atlanta Hawks has been suspended for one game without pay for striking DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings in the groin.

The suspension was announced by Rod Thorn, the NBA's president of basketball operations. Schroder will sit out Thursday night's game in Denver against the Nuggets.

With just less than 10 minutes left in Atlanta's 105-100 victory on Tuesday night, Schroder hit Cousins with his left hand while trying to get around a pick near the top of the key.
