When the Hawks open their season tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum, they will do so, with their offense in particular, as a work in progress.
Hawks coach Larry Drew said on Monday that he installed more of his complex, Princeton-style offense than he thought he might have had a chance to during training camp, but he said the team's grasp of it is not yet instinctive. Under a manageable timetable, he said, it will take them a few more weeks to master it.
Drew also said a spate of injuries affected the team
