Coyotes center Martin Hanzal will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday for a hit on Edmonton defenseman Jeff Petry on Saturday afternoon at Jobing.com Arena in a 5-4 win over the Oilers.

At 13:42 of the first period, Hanzal checked Petry against the boards in the Edmonton end after Petry had moved the puck. Hanzal received a two-minute minor for charging on the play. Petry was shaken up on the play but remained in the game.

According to NHL.com, the charging incident is being considered for supplemental discipline. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.

Hanzal was suspended one game in the 2012 playoffs for boarding the Kings' Dustin Brown. That is the extent of his suspension history.

Hanzal is off to a strong start for the Coyotes. He has five goals, tying him for the team lead with Radim Vrbata and Mike Ribeiro, and his 11 points are second to Vrbata's 12.
