Green, McCoy square off in Call of Duty grudge match
VENICE, Calif. — The NFL offseason allows players to immerse themselves in hobbies outside of the football.
Since the new map pack “Devastation” for Call of Duty: Ghosts launched on Thursday, it seemed like a perfect time for Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green and Eagles running back LeSean McCoy to square up in a grudge match.
“I’ve been playing Call of Duty since I was in college,” Green told FOXSports.com. “It has been great to see some of the new maps and guns. It has been awesome.”
Green, in fact, got to the event an hour early to fine tune his skills and receive some tips from the designers of the game.
“The people who made the game were giving me some pointers like finding some hidden guns,” Green said with a laugh.
The pointers weren’t enough to hold off McCoy and his team, though. The sixth-year running back, who noted that the Eagles have a Call of Duty setup in the team’s game room, kept a sound strategy when trying to disarm Green’s attack.
“I like to lay low and hide under creeks or trees to get things done,” McCoy said. “But if I’m down and need to catch up I’ll break out of my shell and make something happen.”
