Gophers shut out RPI, win Ice Breaker Tournament for second year

After topping Minnesota Duluth 4-3 in the season opener Friday afternoon, the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's hockey team faced off against the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers.

Seth Ambroz, Hudson Fasching and Connor Reilly scored as the top-ranked Gophers dominated RPI in a 3-0 shutout win that earned them a second-consecutive Ice Breaker Tournament championship. Minnesota is now 11-2-0 all-time against RPI.

Junior goaltender Adam Wilcox made 22 saves in his second win of the season.

Minnesota has a week off before playing Bemidji State at home October 24-25.
