The Gophers men's hockey team skated to a 6-3 win over in-state rivals Bemidji State in a dramatic back-and-forth game that began Minnesota's first road trip of the season.

The Gophers have now won eight consecutive games against the Beavers (unbeaten in last nine).

After letting the Beavers get on the board first, the Gophers followed up quickly with goals from junior forward Travis Boyd and junior defenseman Ben Marshall.

Bemidji State tied up the game in the 2nd period, but the Gophers pulled back into the lead on a goal from Sam Warning.

A goal early in the 3rd period from freshman forward Hudson Fasching was quickly countered by a goal by Bemidji State left wing Radoslav Illo, but the Gophers regained their two-point lead with a goal by senior forward Nate Condon, his first of the season.

As the Beavers pressed on later in the game, Gophers redshirt freshman forward Connor Reilly scored an empty netter, his first career goal, to seal the win for the Gophers.

The teams match up again Saturday at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports North PLUS.
