Gophers pick up quarterback recruit Green
It's been a big recruiting week for the Gophers.
The University of Minnesota picked up its biggest commitment of the Tracy Claeys era, as Seth Green of Texas prep superpower Allen High School backed out of his verbal commitment to the University of Oregon in favor of the Gophers.
A 4-star recruit and a former starter at nearby Woodbury's East Ridge High School, Green moved to Texas for his senior season and will reportedly graduate in time for spring practice in Minnesota.
A big-bodied dual threat quarterback, Green took to Twitter to announce the move, attributing the switch to the departure of former Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost.
Green split time with fellow Allen quarterback Mitchell Jonke as a senior, and is currently Scout's 23rd ranked quarterback for the 2016 recruiting class.

Meanwhile, two other recruits signed on with the Gophers: Armstrong linebacker Thomas Barber and Georgia Prep Sports Academy defensive end Taiyon Devers.
Claeys also inked four junior college transfers, including Dodge City Community College corner Elijah Battle, Iowa Western Community College defensive tackle Merrick Jackson, Southwest Mississippi Community College guard Vincent Calhoun and Butler Community College guard Garrison Wright.
