Going, going, gone: Giancarlo Stanton launches HR out of Dodger Stadium
LOS ANGELES -- When Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton came to the plate in the first inning of Tuesday night's game, Dodgers fans booed him.
But many of them stood and cheered following his majestic homer off righty Mike Bolsinger, as he sent an 85 mph cutter out of Dodger Stadium. According to Statcast, it landed approximately 475 feet from home plate.
Stanton became just the fourth player to achieve the rare feat, joining Mark McGwire, Mike Piazza and Willie Stargell (twice). The ball bounced off the back of the balcony in the left-field pavilion before landing in a parking lot.
His blast nearly took out Marlins director of team travel Manuel Colon, who was on his phone in the area.

According to ESPN Home Run Tracker, it marked the third longest dinger of Stanton's career. falling short of one off Eric Stults on April 4, 2014, at Marlins Park (484 feet) and against Josh Roenicke on Aug. 17, 2012, at Coors Field (494 feet).
"He crushed that ball," manager Mike Redmond said. "He's hit a couple like that in batting practice the last couple of days. He hammered that thing. Just wish we could've tacked on a few more."
Added Tuesday's starter Dan Haren, who played for the Dodgers in 2014: "It was amazing. I think it's only happened (five) times. If anybody was going to do it, (it would be) him. It doesn't surprise me. That's pretty impressive."
