PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Mercury hoisted the 2014 WNBA Championship trophy just two weeks ago following a three-game sweep of the Chicago Sky, and fans will be able to relive the magic of the record-breaking 2014 season in its entirety with "Glory Is Ours," a half-hour season-in-review show to premiere on FOX Sports Arizona at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Hosted by Hall of Famer Ann Meyers Drysdale, "Glory Is Ours" will feature exclusive interviews with members of the Mercury championship team. Included among those interviews are 2014 WNBA Finals MVP Diana Taurasi, 2014 WNBA Defensive Player of the Year Brittney Griner and the 2014 WNBA Coach of the Year Sandy Brondello.
The show will give a behind-the-scenes look at the Mercury's road to a third WNBA championship. Exclusive footage from the championship-clinching Game 3 will air for the first time as a part of the show. Footage also will take fans inside the champagne-soaked locker room where the team celebrated their season-long journey to glory.
The historic season by the Mercury included a league-record 29 regular season wins. The team enjoyed a win streak of 16 games that was the second-longest in WNBA history. With the help of the X-factor, the Mercury posted an overall home record of 21-1 and ended the season winning the team's final 20 games at US Airways Center.
Following Tuesday's premiere, the show will air at the following dates and times on FOX Sports Arizona: Thursday, Sept. 25, 6 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 26, 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 27, 4 p.m.; Monday, Sept. 29, 5:30 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 2, 10:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Oct/ 7, 6 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 12, 8 p.m.
