The Gators football team received good news during linebacker Neiron Ball's latest visit to the doctor.

"LB Neiron Ball has passed his final medical checkup and has been fully cleared to participate in football activities. Ball was diagnosed in Feb. 2011 with a hereditary congenital vascular condition. It was a non-football related medical issue."

That came from the official team's official Twitter account on Friday.

Ball played in 13 games as a true freshman in 2010 but missed the 2011 season. He hasn't played since tying his career high with two tackles in Florida's win over Penn State in the 2011 Outback Bowl.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 222 pounds, Ball is a physical player who could make an impact at linebacker if fully healthy this fall.
