Garrett: Cowboys need to re-commit to the run

IRVING, Texas -- To put it lightly, Jason Garrett answered a few questions on Monday about his team's inability to establish a running game Sunday in Kansas City.

To summarize his many responses, the Dallas Cowboys head coach said the team needs to "recommit to running the football."

"In yesterday's game, we were in some no-huddle type situations for some different reasons," Garrett said, "to attack their defense, to handle some of the crowd noise, to handle some of the third down situations, and we just simply threw the ball too much in those kind of situations."

Of course, there's no guarantee that the running game would've gotten the Cowboys any closer to a victory. Cowboys starting running back DeMarco Murray carried 12 times for 25 yards and the team finished with 16 carries for 37 yards.

Is Murray the problem? Do the other Cowboys backs need more opportunities?

"We've played our best offensive football around here when he's been a big part of what we're doing," Garrett said. "DeMarco's a good football player, and we've got to give him more chances."
