Gamecocks finishing strong

South Carolina is not known for its strong finishes. If anything, the Gamecocks (9-3, 5-3) are known for jumping out to five or six wins in a season, then slowly coming back to earth as the dreaded "orange crush" portion of the schedule hits.
There was one point this season that it looked like there would be more of the same. Arkansas doesn't wear orange, but the Razorbacks did deal the Gamecocks their worse loss of the season -- a 21-point shellacking at home, a week before the de-facto SEC East Championship game.
Rather than fold has had become the common thing to do in most seasons in Columbia, the Gamecocks bounced back to win their finals games over Florida, Troy and Clemson by a combined score of 134-45.
