TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Former Florida State coach Bobby Bowden will
return to a Seminoles football game for the first time since he was forced to
retire after the 2009 season.

Bowden, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of
Fame in 2006, will attend Florida State home games on Oct. 26 against NC
State and Nov. 16 against Syracuse.

Florida State will honor Bowden and members of the 1993
national championship team during the game against Syracuse. This is the 20th
anniversary of the Seminoles' first national title.

Bowden also guided Florida Stare to the 1999 national title.

He led the Seminoles to a 14-year run of top-5 finishes in
the AP poll from 1987-2000.

Bowden had always said that it was too soon to return to a
game in Tallahassee and that he didn't want to put pressure on coach Jimbo
Fisher. But Bowden was inducted into the school's athletics hall of game in
August and now will return to the field that bears his name.
