IRVING, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys are planning a move from their Valley Ranch headquarters and sources tell FOXSportsSouthwest.com that the City of Frisco has been "aggressive'' in moving into the lead in working to close a deal with the NFL club.

"We are still looking at a variety of great options,'' Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones tells FOXSportsSouthwest.com.

Valley Ranch has been the Cowboys' practice home for 28 years, and that will continue to be the case for this season. Meanwhile, the presence of new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington has resulted in conversations with that city about headquartering the club there. And Irving, in which Valley Ranch is a part, would like to maintain its association with the team as well.

Frisco is already home to minor-league affiliates for baseball's Texas Rangers and the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and is also the location for the NHL Dallas Stars' practice facility and the home city for soccer's FC Dallas.
