With Auburn's miraculous win over Alabama in Week 14, Florida State moves into the No. 1 spot in Charles Davis' latest top 25 rankings.

1 Florida State Seminoles 12-0 +1

The Seminoles are the new and deserved No. 1 team in the nation, with one of the best players in the country in QB Jameis Winston. Duke can’t spoil the party … can it?

2 Ohio State Buckeyes 12-0 +1

What a battle at Michigan, and Ohio State showed plenty of grit. It only gets tougher with Michigan State in the Big Ten title game next up.

3 Auburn Tigers 11-1 +1

What a game, what a win -- instant lore! WAR EAGLE. Now the Tigers play Missouri for the SEC title and potentially a national title appearance (with some help).

4 Missouri Tigers 11-1 +2

Who had Missouri vs. Auburn for the SEC title in the preseason? This will be some game. What a special year in Columbia, and it could get better.

5 Alabama Crimson Tide 11-1 -4

Not currently in the national title picture, but what if Florida State and Ohio State both lose their conference title games? Dare they hope?

6 Michigan State Spartans 11-1 +2

Overlooked, but the Spartans are in focus now. The best defense in the nation believes it can shut down anyone. Will it shut down Ohio State?

7 Oklahoma State Cowboys 10-1 -2

Cowboys! The Big 12 title is on the line at home in "Bedlam" this week against Oklahoma. Will the head coach "do the Gundy" one more time after another win?

8 Baylor Bears 10-1 +1

Our sympathies to head coach Art Briles on the loss of his brother. The Bears can share the Big 12 title with a win over Texas and win it outright with some help.

9 Stanford Cardinal 10-2 +5

More than willing to "thump" with anyone, the Cardinal bruised their way past Notre Dame and are now off to Tempe to play Arizona State for the Pac-12 crown.

10 South Carolina Gamecocks 10-2 +1

QB Connor Shaw isn't just one the toughest players in college football -- he has skills, too! What a career and win over Clemson.

11 Arizona State Sun Devils 10-2 +1

Head coach Todd Graham has the Sun Devils hosting the Pac-12 title game against Stanford in just his second season at the helm.

12 Oregon Ducks 10-2 +3

The Ducks outlasted Oregon State in the "Civil War" game and still have designs on being the second BCS team from the Pac-12.

13 Clemson Tigers 10-2 -6

The Tigers fell 10-2 in the regular season after losing to South Carolina and now await their bowl fate.

14 Central Florida Knights 10-1 +2

Expected to whack I-4 rival South Florida, the Knights found a way to win instead. By the way, that's what good teams do. They can't slip up at SMU on Saturday.

15 LSU Tigers 9-3 +2

Tigers survived a tough battle over Arkansas to finish their regular season. Bowl game is next.

16 Northern Illinois Huskies 12-0 +4

QB Jordan Lynch IS a Heisman contender. Truly. Seriously. Watch him play in the MAC title game vs. Bowling Green on Friday.

17 Louisville Cardinals 10-1 +4

Has a team gone 10-1 and been off the radar as much as Louisville has this season? The Cardinals finish with Cincinnati on Thursday.

18 UCLA Bruins 9-3 +4

BIG win over rival USC, and that's two in a row. Yes, Bruins, you own L.A. and now head to a bowl game.

19 Wisconsin Badgers 9-3 -9

I did not see the loss to Penn State coming, and now a BCS bowl is off the table. Some other lucky bowl will welcome the Badgers.

20 Oklahoma Sooners 9-2 -1

It's not often that Oklahoma plays spoiler, but the Sooners are looking forward to trying to knock off Oklahoma State in Stillwater.

21 Duke Blue Devils 10-2 +3

Congratulations to the Blue Devils. Ten wins, a division title and a chance to win the ACC title against Florida State. David Cutcliffe for Coach of the Year!

22 Texas Longhorns 8-3 +6

Longhorns had an impressive win on Thanksgiving night against Texas Tech. Beat Baylor in Waco, get some help from Oklahoma and the Longhorns win the Big 12.

23 USC Trojans 9-4 -10

They finished with a disappointing loss at home to UCLA, but what a turnaround for the Trojans. Bowl game, yes, but who will be named the full-time head coach?

24 Texas A&M Aggies 8-4 -6

It's little solace, but the Aggies’ losses were to Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Missouri. At least head coach Kevin Sumlin will be back in 2014.

25 Vanderbilt Commodores 8-4 (unranked last week)

They had a tough start, but right now the Commodores are not a team to take lightly. They beat Georgia at home and Florida and Tennessee on the road.
