FOX Sports North announces 'All-Star Week' programming lineup

FOX Sports North, in conjunction with the Minnesota Twins, today announced plans to televise an "All-Star Week" programming lineup beginning Friday, July 4. As part of "All-Star Week" coverage, the regional sports network will debut more than 50 hours of original "All-Star" programming, including four new shows, three past All-Star Games and a series of "All-Star Live" shows.

"All-Star Live" will include interviews with baseball legends, stories of All-Star Games past, live press conference coverage and an inside look at how the Twins and the Twin Cities prepared for the big game. In addition, FOX Sports North will include a regular "All-Star Salutes" segment, a partnership with the Minnesota National Guard designed to honor local military "All-Stars."

The 2014 All-Star Game airs Tuesday, July 15 on FOX.

Programming Details:

Spotlight: Batting Champions: Twins greats Rod Carew, Tony Oliva and Joe Mauer have combined for 32 All-Star Game Appearances and 13 Batting Titles. During this special, they come together to discuss the differences and similarities of their games and take viewers inside the batting cage for a lesson in the "art of hitting."

Air Time: 60 Minutes

Spotlight: Anatomy of a Trade: Two players with Major League Baseball dreams hone their skills as youngsters in Southern California, briefly becoming teammates. Both take different paths to professional baseball. One signs out of high school and the other stars at a college baseball dynasty, becoming the first overall pick in the amateur draft. In a twist of fate, they're traded for each other and pursue their careers with that common bond. Nearly a decade after the trade, they become teammates in Minnesota and All-Stars sharing in a World Series championship -- together. Bert Blyleven and Roy Smalley are united again, this time on the FOX Sports North broadcast team.

Under the Lights: Making of the All-Star Game: An in-depth look at how the Twins and MLB are preparing for Minneapolis' first All-Star summer since 1985. Get the inside perspective from the logo presentation to planning the many events taking place leading up to the game. Learn how broadcasters approach the event and about the Legacy program that will leave an impact on Twins Territory long after the All-Star summer has come and gone.

Unscripted: All-Star Pitchers: Hall of Famer and TV analyst Bert Blyleven sits down for an up-close conversation on the art of pitching with some of the biggest stars in the game today, including Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Chris Sale, Glen Perkins and Nationals young gun Stephen Strasburg.

2013 All-Star Game: 10 current and former Twins appeared in last year's game at Citi Field.

1965 All-Star Game: Metropolitan Stadium hosted 19 Hall of Famers, including Harmon Killebrew, who hit a home run in the game.

1985 All-Star Game: A memorable game played at the Metrodome by a number of Minnesota natives, including Paul Molitor, Dave Winfield and Jack Morris.
