FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — On Tuesday, May 21, 2013, FOX Sports Florida will premiere this year’s second installment of “Inside the Marlins” upon the conclusion of the Miami Marlins vs. Philadelphia Phillies game. Hosted and produced by Frank Forte, this episode features the contributions, past and present, of Cuban and Cuban-American baseball players to Major League Baseball and the Marlins organization. Fans will get an inside look on the history of baseball in the island nation, as it dates back to the late 1800s.
Fittingly, the new Marlins Park is located in the Little Havana area of Miami. Throughout its 20 years of baseball, the Marlins have received significant contributions from Cuban players and others of Cuban descent. “Inside the Marlins” will feature interviews with Hall of Famer Tony Perez, broadcaster Cookie Rojas, Tony Taylor, Latin Coordinator Bobby Ramos, plus former players Orestes Destrade and Alex Fernandez, as well as current players Jose Fernandez and Adeiny Hechavarria.
