(Ft. Lauderdale, FL) ― FOX Sports Florida announced today that they will be featuring the University School-Eagle’s View game and the Belen Jesuit-Miami Central game on FOXSportsFlorida.com via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers. Prep Zone is a revolutionary way of displaying high school football merging television, web and social media all in one place. Ed Berliner will call the games, alongside color commentator Keith Sims, and Kavita Channe will be reporting from the sidelines.

On Thursday, Nov. 1st at 7:00 pm ET, Prep Zone travels to Broward County for a non-district showdown between visiting Eagle’s View at University School. The Warriors suffered a devastating blow in the season-opener, losing junior QB D.J. Gillins, who spearheaded their surprise run to the Class 2A regional finals in 2011, to a season-ending knee injury. It’s been a struggle for Eagle’s View on offense this season, as the team has used three signal-caller, with senior Cortney Jones seeing the most time under center. The only adversity the host Suns have experienced this season is what it’s inflicted on its opponents.  University has been dominant on both sides of the ball, with a defense led by 6-foot-5, 300-pound senior DL Marquedius Bain (15 BCS offers) and senior LB Nick Internicola (Rutgers commit) and an offense with multiple playmakers, led by 6-foot-3 senior WR Jordan Cunningham, a four-star recruit pursued by more than 30 BCS programs.

On Friday, Nov. 2nd at 4:00 pm ET, Prep Zone will be in Dade County for a District 6A-16 clash between Miami Central and host Belen Jesuit. The visiting Rockets, state runner-up in 6A last season, are powered by a defense featuring a quartet of Division I commits: DBs Ahmad Thomas (Oklahoma) and Da’Wan Hunte (N.C. State) and LBs Marqez Hodge (Syracuse) and Devante Duclos (Western Kentucky). The Wolverines have been eliminated from the postseason and have struggled to put up points after losing 10 offensive starters to graduation. However, the defense has been solid, led by senior DB Xavier Hines (FIU commit).

“This week, Prep Zone will be featuring six teams from three different markets,” said Stephen Grecsek of OUR TEAM. “In addition to fans tuning in from Jacksonville, Orlando and the Miami area, these games will feature some of the top D-1 talent in the state.”
During the game, viewers will have access to a library of instant video highlights powered via Snappy TV technology that will allow fans to share clips with family and friends via Facebook and Twitter within seconds. Additional details can be found at www.FOXSportsFlorida.com.
