FOX Sports Florida, Prep Zone Game of the Week featuring a district rivalry on the rise

BY foxsports • September 27, 2012

(FORT LAUDERDALE, FL) ― FOX Sports Florida announced today that they will be featuring the St. Thomas Aquinas-McArthur game on via Prep Zone, presented by Checkers. Prep Zone is a revolutionary way of displaying high school football merging television, web and social media all in one place. Ed Berliner will call the game, alongside color commentator Keith Sims and Kavita Channe reporting from the sidelines.

On Friday, Sept. 28th at 7 pm ET, Prep Zone travels to Broward County for a District 7A-16 showdown between McArthur and St. Thomas Aquinas. The visiting Mustangs think they’re ready to make what’s been a lopsided series a true rivalry. McArthur returns 17 starters from last year’s 7-4 team, including a promising defense led by a pair of standout senior linebackers in Jeremy Benjamin, who has more than 20 Division I offers, and Cameron Johnson. Junior quarterback Terrell Bonds, a transfer from Orlando Liberty, will try to test the Aquinas secondary.

The Raiders have had two weeks to prepare for their district opener, after dropping their first game of the season, a 20-10 loss to national power Don Bosco but have rebounded and are now ranked 2nd in the state. Defensively, Aquinas is led by 6-foot-4, 270-pound DE Joey Bosa, an Ohio State commit. Offensively, Aquinas has a dangerous gunslinger in QB John O’Korn, a Houston commit, and a big-time lineman in Kyle Schafenacker, a Connecticut commit.

During the game, viewers will have access to a library of instant video highlights powered via Snappy TV technology that will allow fans to share clips with family and friends via Facebook and Twitter within seconds.
