For 17 years, FOX Sports Arizona has been the standard bearer for local sports television programming and coverage, and that tradition was cemented once again when the network was recently honored with 13 Emmy Award nominations by the Rocky Mountain Southwest Region.

Todd Walsh already has won two Emmys as the best sports anchor  and will now be vying for a third as he was once again nominated for an Emmy in the “On Camera Talent Sports” category. In all, Walsh’s work was honored with four different Emmy Award nominations this year that were spread across four categories.

In addition, FOX Sports Arizona’s acclaimed In My Own Words series was honored again as three different episodes received a nomination. Shows about Shane Doan, Todd Graham and Matt Williams all received Emmy consideration.

The network’s monthly series about the Arizona Diamondbacks -- Diamondbacks 10th Inning -- was nominated for an Emmy in the “Sports - Daily or Weekly Program” category.

FOX Sports Arizona scored two nominations in the “Sports - One Time Special” category with Countdown: D-backs Opening Day and Hockey the Hard Way.

A pair of the network’s promo campaigns were singled out for Emmy nominations in the "Promotion Program - Sports” category" -- the ASU vs Arizona Rivalry (basketball) promo and Phoenix Suns chemistry.

Editor Tom Elsner and producer Josh Kelman both received five nominations; Walsh had four; producer Graham Taylor and graphics designer Scott Powell earned three each.
