FOX Sports 1 first weekend highlights

FOX Sports 1 is finally here!

America’s new sports network debuted at 6 a.m. ET today. We’re set to bring you a host of great original programming and live event coverage.

Here’s your one-stop guide to the highlights from the opening weekend. Find your channel here and don’t forget to check out our full slate of programming highlights.

Saturday

6 a.m. – FOX College Football Kickoff

The network starts off with FOX College Football Kickoff, our preview for the 2013 season. Erin Andrews, Mike Pereira, Joel Klatt, Clay Travis, Eddie George and Petros Papadakis will dissect the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, Big 12, and Pac-12 with the help of our regional stations.

Who will emerge as national champ? Who is ‘Bama's biggest threat? Our panel has the answers. Also, Eddie will give his Heisman favorites, and Mike will explain why Jadeveon Clowney would be ejected this year for the hit in last year’s Outback Bowl that earned him major recognition.

8:30 a.m. – Live NASCAR Sprint Cup practice

Our first live event features practice from the track at Michigan International Speedway as Sprint Cup drivers gear up for Sunday’s 3M Performance 400. The practice is immediately followed by NASCAR Camping World Truck Series qualifying at 9:30 a.m., then the final Sprint Cup practice at 11.

Mike Joy, Darrell Waltrip, Larry McReynolds and more bring you the action.

12:30 p.m. – Live NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan

The first live competitive event, the NCWTS drivers will compete in the Michigan National Guard 200. Rick Allen, Phil Parsons, Michael Waltrip and more bring you the action.

2:30 p.m. – Tom Brady, 1-on-1 with Michael Strahan

With the NFL regular season just a few weeks away, our Michael Strahan sits down with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to talk about what motivates him, and a whole lot more.

4:30 p.m. – UFC Ultimate Insider

Go beyond the Octagon and behind the scenes of the Ultimate Fighting Championship with UFC Ultimate Insider. Each week, host Jon Anik brings you unprecedented access to the world of the UFC with in-depth fighter profiles, private training sessions, exclusive footage and inside coverage you can't get anywhere else. UFC Ultimate Insider delivers you the UFC from the inside out.

5 p.m. – UFC pre-fight show

Our one-hour show gets you ready for the prelims for UFC on FOX Sports 1, which start at 6 p.m. That leads into . . .

8 p.m. – UFC on FOX Sports 1

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to TV on the new home of the UFC, FOX Sports 1. Three-time world title challenger Chael Sonnen battles Brazilian superstar Shogun Rua in an epic light heavyweight showdown, plus heavyweight bangers Alistair Overeem and Travis Browne face off, and “The California Kid” Urijah Faber takes on Yuri Alcantara.

11 p.m. – Debut of FOX Sports Live

Jay Onrait, Dan O’Toole, Charissa Thompson, Andy Roddick, Donovan McNabb, Gary Payton and Ephraim Salaam kick off FOX Sports Live, our news and information show, immediately after the UFC event. The show will run live for three hours, recapping the day in sports.

The dynamic duo of Jay and Dan deliver the highlights and news as only they can. Unfamiliar with Jay and Dan's body of work? Their first FOXSports.com podcast will give you a good idea of the hilarity to ensue.

Panelists McNabb, Payton, Roddick and Salaam will discuss hot topics around the sports world, as Thompson leads the group.

Sunday

10 a.m. – Debut of NASCAR RaceDay

Our NASCAR news and information show kicks off, with a preview of Sunday’s 3M Performance 400 from Michigan International Speedway. NASCAR Victory Lane debuts at 7 p.m., recapping the events after the race’s conclusion.

The energetic and highly-popular program airs live from every race track on the circuit. John Roberts hosts alongside Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace and Larry McReynolds, while Wendy Venturini, Rutledge Wood and Matt Clark report the latest from the garage and pit road. NASCAR RaceDay leaves no stone unturned, revving up for the day’s race with live driver interviews, features and entertaining, off-the-wall segments.

2 p.m. – Live MotoGP World Championship

The world’s best riders compete on high tech 800cc prototypes designed and built by the top engineers that Ducati, Yamaha, Honda and Suzuki have to offer, each capable of speeds well in excess of 200mph and boasting acceleration unrivaled in any other form of road racing, two- or four- wheeled. Catch the action live from the Brickyard in Indianapolis.

9 p.m. – UFC Unleashed: Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva

The best fights from the UFC vault, including pay-per-view events, The Ultimate Fighter finales, Fight Nights, and more. UFC Unleashed brings you the big names and epic battles you want to see. This Sunday, see Rich Franklin battle Wanderlei Silva for bragging rights from UFC 147.

10 p.m. – FOX Sports Live

The evening ends with two more live hours of FOX Sports Live, breaking down the best from the day in sports.

Monday

4 p.m. – Debut of FOX Soccer Daily

Four new shows kick off on Monday, starting with FOX Soccer Daily, our soccer-specific news and information program.

Host Julie Stewart-Binks will be joined by Eric Wynalda, Warren Barton and Brian McBride to break down the biggest stories of the day. There will also be interviews with star-studded guests — players, coaches and our international experts from FOXSoccer.com. FOX Soccer Daily will have all the action from around the world every weekday to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

4:30 p.m. – Debut of NASCAR Race Hub

NASCAR Race Hub brings viewers closer to the inner workings of NASCAR than ever before. Hosted by Steve Byrnes and Danielle Trotta, along with fan favorites Jimmy Spencer and Matt Clark.

5 p.m. – Debut of Crowd Goes Wild

Regis Philbin returns to TV with our daily sports variety show, Crowd Goes Wild. He’s joined by a wide-ranging panel of talent, including Georgie Thompson, Jason Gay, Michael Kosta, Trevor Pryce and Katie Nolan. No topics are off limits as they take a fun, irreverent approach to the world of sports.

Monday's guest is boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya.

6 p.m. – Debut of FOX Football Daily

Your one-stop shop for all things football. This is FOX Sports 1’s signature daily football show featuring analysis from Troy Aikman, Ronde Barber, Terry Bradshaw, Scott Fujita, Jimmy Johnson, Howie Long, John Lynch, Randy Moss, Tim Ryan, Michael Strahan and Brian Urlacher.

Jay Glazer and Mike Pereira are also on hand to provide insight and breaking news.

And hosts Curt Menefee, Mike Hill and Joel Klatt will welcome special guests from around the league to bring viewers out of the stands and into the locker rooms.

Monday's guest is Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly.

9 p.m. – Live Golden Boy boxing on FOX

Daniel Jacobs takes on Giovanni Lorenzo in the first Golden Boy fight on FOX Sports 1.

11 p.m. – FOX Sports Live

Monday fades into Tuesday with three more live hours of our daily news and information program. Mike Tyson, who will be the focus of the upcoming FOX Sports 1 series BEING: Mike Tyson, is slated as a guest.
