Former UFC fighter Madadi free again pending appeal hearing on theft charges

Former UFC lightweight Reza Madadi was sentenced to 18 months behind bars for his part in a smash and grab theft of some high end hand bags back in August, but now the Swedish fighter is back on the streets awaiting a new hearing for his appeal.

Madadi was sentenced for the crime in a Swedish court after evidence showed that he was involved in the robbery that accounted for over $230,000 worth of merchandise. His stay in jail was short lived, however, because Madadi is already free and awaiting a new hearing.

Swedish MMA website MMAViking caught up with the free Madadi, who was already back in training just days after exiting jail. The former UFC fighter maintains his innocence and says once all the facts of the case are heard, there's no way he'll ever see the inside of a jail cell again.
