Former Missouri men's basketball guard Negus Webster-Chan has committed to play basketball at the University of Hawaii, according to report by the Honolulu Star Advertiser.

Webster-Chan, a 6-foot-7 reserve who recently finished his first season at Missouri, said his reasons for transferring from Mizzou included a desire for more playing time and a wish to be closer to his home, Scarborough, Ontario.

"I just felt this was the right fit for me where I could succeed better, coming to Hawaii and playing for this coaching staff," Webster-Chan told the Star Advertiser.

Webster-Chan must sit out the 2013-14 season, then will have three years of eligibility. He averaged 2.5 points, 2 rebounds and 15.5 minutes per game as a freshman at Mizzou.
