Former Crimson Tide linebacker explains Miller's Alabama visits
A two-pronged explanation for Braxton Miller's reported multiple visits to Alabama has emerged, and it is a remarkably logical one.
The Ohio State quarterback's reason for visiting the state of Alabama? To work with Dr. James Andrews, the renowned surgeon based in Birmingham. Andrews performed a procedure on Miller late last summer to repair a torn labrum.
And Miller's reason for tripping to the University of Alabama? That was to see Crimson Tide linebacker Trey DePriest, a lifelong friend who grew up with Miller in Springfield, Ohio. Miller transferred to Huber Heights Wayne for his high school career.
DePriest offered the explanation to AL.com in a phone interview Thursday, but he did not shed any light on how likely Miller is or is not to be suiting up for the Scarlet and Gray this fall.
"I don't really have a take," DePriest told the site of speculation regarding Miller's ability to go to another program and play right away because he has completed his undergraduate work at Ohio State. "That's for him to decide. It doesn't really matter to me. I just want him to get healthy and be able to play next season and do what he's capable of doing. That's really all I care about is him getting healthy."
