Fogg named Pac-12 Player of the Week
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona guard Kyle Fogg was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday.
The 6-foot-3, 188-pound senior led Arizona to a road sweep of Cal and Stanford last week by averaging 18.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Wildcats moved to 4-2 on the road in conference play. He connected on 47.8 percent of his field goals (11 for 23), 61.5 percent of his 3-point attempts (8 for 13) and 87.5 percent of his free throws (7 for 8) to go with two blocks and three steals.
He opened the week with a season-high 23 points, three boards and four assists Thursday at California and added 14 points, four rebounds and four assists Saturday at Stanford.
Fogg was equally as good on the defensive side of the ball, as his primary defensive assignments in the two games combined to shoot 8 for 28 (.286) from the field against him, helping Arizona post its first road sweep of the season against a pair of teams that entered play a combined 26-1 at home this season.
Fogg is averaging 12.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season.
It's the first time in his career that Fogg has been named the conference's player of the week. It's the third time an Arizona player has earned Pac-12 honors this season, though, as Solomon Hill earned the award on Dec. 5 and 26.
