HOUSTON (AP) -- Rice cashed in on a fumble and an interception to come from behind and beat Florida Atlantic University 18-14 Saturday night in a Conference USA game that broke open in the fourth quarter.

FAU was leading 14-12 and driving late in the game when Bryce Callahan picked off a Greg Hankerson pass. Rice capitalized three plays later on a 20-yard TD run by Darik Dillard.

Earlier in the fourth, Rice's Cody Bauer scooped up a fumble by Hankerson and ran 7 yards for a TD, closing the score to 14-12.

FAU (2-3, 1-2) led 7-6 at the half after Hankerson hit William Dukes on a 58-yard TD pass in the first quarter. Chris Boswell connected on field goals of 45 and 47 yards for Rice (2-2, 1-0).

Hankerson's 15-yard TD pass to Nexon Dorvilus in the fourth quarter boosted FAU's lead to 14-6, but then came the fumble and interception.
