Fighter & The Kid: Ronda Rousey talks movies, WWE, zombies and more
Ronda Rousey is the biggest star in the UFC. She's currently embarking on what is a very promising film career.
So, gun to her head, if she had to choose between the two, what would she do?
"I'd fight -- 100 percent," Rousey said on this week's Fighter & The Kid podcast with Brendan Schaub and Bryan Callen.
Rousey's reasoning if that the UFC -- and her success in the Octagon -- has been a springboard to Hollywood.
"I'm a fighter," she said. "I'm that first. They're only interested in me doing movies because I fight. If you take the fighting out, the movie opportunities would go."
Rousey spoke more about than and touched on a number of other topics in this episode with Schaub and Callen. The UFC women's bantamweight champion and Schaub are very close friends. So close that when Callen brought up the topic of attractive UFC fighters, Rousey balked at naming any. Schaub followed suit. And good thing for him.
"If Brendan picked the second most good-looking girl in the UFC, she'd be dead tomorrow," Rousey said.
Rousey said that Schaub already made that mistake and "look what I did to her," obviously referring to Miesha Tate. Rousey also addressed her refusing to shake hands with Tate after their fight at UFC 168. It had nothing to do with Schaub, of course, but with the pair's rivalry. Rousey felt like Tate extending her hand was premeditated.
"She was preparing more for a loss," she said. "You can kind of tell. That handshake was like: 'boom.' She was like ready for it right away. That was something in her head."
