Fantasy Basement: Week 6
The Fantasy Basement is a weekly piece that provides fantasy advice on lineup calls, sleepers, waiver-wire moves and rookie spotlights, along with the occasional ramble or two. Why “Fantasy Basement” you ask? There is a common belief that sports writers dwell in their childhood cellars, that the institution promotes arrested development. Um…why is that such a bad thing? Who wouldn’t enjoy coming home to fresh-baked cookies and having their laundry done?…Anyway, enjoy!
He’s far from starter-worthy at the moment, but for those playing for down-the-road returns, Johnson could deliver a harvest in the final weeks of the season, justifying a roster spot in deeper leagues.
“Good pick on Detroit. You and all the Bills haters feel like real idiots I bet. Probably picking New England this week too I bet. Bills are best underrated club today but no one realizes it. Good luck on continuing to pick against them.”
I wanted to post this without response, because really, does it need a retort? It’s just like a @PFTCommenter statement only not funny. Howbeit, I will give three quick comments:
1. He’s right. Feel like a real dumb-dumb for failing to account for Alex Henery’s three missed field goals. My bad.
2. Mark’s also a prophet: I am going with the Pats this weekend. Call it a hunch.
3. I can’t figure out which part of this email I love the best: the back-to-back “I bets,” “best underrated” or calling a team underrated and saying no one realizes it, which I believe is the definition of underrated. Either way, thanks for brightening up my dark world with that message, my friend.
