What should I do with Bartolo Colon, Johnny Peralta..? Just sit tight?

Yes. It's not a great option, but you don't have a better one.

How do you feel about Torii, Wil Myers and De Aza, shallow H2H points, ROS?

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:04 Gypsy Davy

3:05

John Halpin:
Like De Aza the best, then Torii, then Myers. The Torii/Myers gap is close.

Pedro Strop (assuming a Gregg trade, which I do).

Better keeper segura in the last round or felix hernandez in the 3rd round?

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:06 Guest

3:07

John Halpin:
Segura. You can come closer to Felix's production in an early round than you can to Segura's in a late one.

I just made kind of a bad trade an need to feel better about myself. Bryce Harper ROS?

John Halpin:
Not the breakout I hoped for, and I'm a little worried about the knee, but I think he'll be pretty good. Remember that he's a freak talent.

Not at all. Just out of Double A, figures to struggle. NL-only, maybe a deep mixed depending on your options.

John Halpin:
I wish I knew. Lots of ground balls this year, which is weird. I wouldn't wait too long, but I wouldn't cut him unless the replacement is pretty good.

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:11 John Halpin

pick 2 ROS: ziegler. malancon, henderson, strop (assuming gregg gets traded)?

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:13 Kevin

3:17

John Halpin:
Melancon is definitely first, and I'll take Henderson second. Lots of variables there. Henderson has a 50-50 chance of getting the job, and while Ziegler owns his right now, I just don't trust him. Strop could out-save them all, but what if nobody wants Gregg?

3:36

John Halpin:
Different degrees of low between those two guys, but Cole does concern me in that regard. However, I get the feeling that he could improve there because he can throw the ball through a wall. Not so with Westbrook.

CHC (Strop), HOU (Wright/Cisnero), MIA (Dunn, maybe). Darkhorses: CHW (Nate Jones), KC (Crow or Herrera).

Have you ever been to the British Open? I was at Muirfield last week and it was quite an experience. Gorgeous course but the fairways were like pavement.

3:41

John Halpin:
No British Opens yet for me. Been to two U.S. Opens (Shinnecock, Pinehurst) and a Masters practice round. I'm too short and too vision-challenged to attend golf tournaments, because I can't see anything. I do highly recommend trying to visit Augusta, though. What a great place. Beautiful, and spending $4.50 for a sandwich, chips and beer was pretty funny.

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:45 Hawk Harrelson

3:47

John Halpin:
No. You are an unabashed homer, and the way you cheer for your team is often fun. As a longtime listener of Yankee radio broadcasts, I can attest that there are plenty of bad announcers that are less entertaining.

Thursday July 25, 2013 3:50 Nelson Cruz

3:51

Braun had incentives to go down meekly - bad Brewer season, limited punishment for plea bargain deal. Cruz has a playoff drive ahead, and a free-agent contract waiting. I bet he appeals (but I don't know the extent of the evidence).

I don't know. It's a tough call, and I see both sides. But if you take a 50-game suspension - assuming a successful appeal is possible - while your team is fighting for a playoff berth just so you can get a bigger payday, then who would want to play with you? You'd be a jackass, right?

That's a lot to give up for two months of Santana, but that's interesting. It's too bad you'd probably get buried behind Chris Getz after 30 bad at bats, like Johnny Giavotella does every year.
