The $27,000 gamble made by owner Jim Stone and trainer Bernie Flint on Exfactor paid off Saturday with a win in the $111,500 Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs.

Calvin Borel rode Exfactor to the win in 1:10.30 over six furlongs, paying $12.60, $5.20 and $3.60 in the first graded stakes of the year for 2-year-olds. The horse started last over the first quarter mile, pulled ahead at the top of the stretch and won by 2 3-4 lengths.

Exfactor's second win comes less than a year after Stoneway Farms picked up the horse for a song at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling auction. He was the second choice Saturday at 4-to-1.

Power World paid $4.80 and $3.60, while Friscan paid $4.60.
