Ex-Packers QB Brohm signs with CFL team
Brian Brohm's brief NFL career traversed the league's northernmost outposts, so it's only natural that the former Green Bay Packers quarterback has agreed to sign with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
"I just signed my contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats! I can't wait to get the season started," Brohm, 27, tweeted Tuesday.
Brohm, a University of Louisville product who was drafted in the second round (56th overall) by the Packers in 2008, was quickly passed on Green Bay's depth chart by 2008 seventh-round pick Matt Flynn. He was released by Green Bay before the start of the 2009 season without ever having taken a regular-season snap for the team.
Brohm played in three games, starting two, for the Buffalo Bills in 2009 and '10 and hasn't played in the league since. He spent parts of 2011 and 2012 with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League.
