Former Missouri wide receiver and the nation's No. 1 high school player, Dorial Green-Beckham, is now enrolled at Oklahoma.
Green-Beckham caught 87 passes for 1,278 yards and 17 touchdowns in two seasons at Missouri, but he was dismissed from the team after last season for a domestic incident where he allegedly pushed a woman down a flight of stairs.
"I appreciate this opportunity from (Bob) Stoops and the University of Oklahoma," said Green-Beckham in a statement released by OU. "There are people here who will help me build a strong foundation. I've disappointed myself and others in the past. I know that I have a lot of work to do and I'm ready to get started. OU is a great program and I feel privileged to be part of it. The university has made the expectations clear and I want to live up to them and be a positive part of the campus and team. I also want to thank coach Gary Pinkel and the University of Missouri."
Green-Beckham will not be eligible in 2014, although some sources are reporting Oklahoma is exploring a waiver and will appeal to the NCAA to get Green-Beckham eligible for the 2014 season.
The Springfield, Mo., native was the top high school prospect in the nation in 2012. He set a national high school record by catching 75 touchdown passes and 6.953 yards. Green-Beckham had 119 catches for 2,233 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior.
"We are pleased to welcome Dorial to the University of Oklahoma, where he is excited to continue his education and resume his playing career," Stoops said in a statement released by Oklahoma. "Dorial understands the privilege and responsibilities of representing the Oklahoma Football program. He is a talented young man who is eager to get to work with the rest of our team in the classroom and on the field."
