NEW YORK (AP) Evidently charged up the rail to pull a 13-1 upset Sunday in the $200,000 Long Island Handicap for fillies and mares on the turf at Aqueduct.
A 5-year-old owned and trained by Roy Lerman, Evidently rallied from seventh to edge the pacesetting Earring by a nose. The winner ran 1 1/2 miles in 2:34.50.
Antonio Gallardo was aboard as Evidently improved on a seventh-place finish in this race last year with her third win in 21 starts.
''The addition of blinkers probably made a difference,'' Lerman said. ''Tony had never ridden her before but she was a touch more aggressive and thankfully it worked out today.''

Evidently paid $29.20, $11.60 and $9.60. Earring returned $7.50 and $6.50, and Desiree Clary paid $6.40 to show.
