Evan Longoria can add a new title to his growing resume: Proud father.
The Tampa Bay Rays' three-time All-Star third baseman and his girlfriend, former Playboy model Jaime Edmondson, welcomed a baby girl Wednesday night. Longoria left the Rays' spring training facility earlier in the day, after he learned Edmondson would begin labor a little more than a month before the expected due date.
Rays manager Joe Maddon exchanged texts with Longoria on Wednesday night and learned all went well.
"I didn't want to interfere with the moment, just wanted to know that everybody was well, and he said that they were," Maddon told reporters Thursday.
