MOSCOW (AP) The IAAF says former European 1,500-meter medallist Anna Mishchenko of Ukraine has been banned for doping, and confirmed a doping ban for previously suspended Pan American Games marathon champion Gladys Tejeda.

Mishchenko was banned for two years through August 2017 under the biological passport system, which tracks abnormal values in a competitor's blood for signs of doping.

Mishchenko originally finished third at the 2012 European championships but had been in line to inherit silver after the original winner, Turkey's Asli Cakir Alptekin, was banned for doping.

Separately, the IAAF confirmed Peruvian marathon runner Tejeda would be stripped of the Pan Am gold she won in July under a backdated six-month ban due to expire next month.

Peru's Olympic committee previously said Tejeda tested positive for the banned diuretic furosemide.
