Erin Andrews under a watchful eye
Once burned, twice cautious.
Hotel employees are under orders to watch over ESPN sideline reporter Erin Andrews in light of her recent stalker ordeal, the New York Post reported Friday.
When the announcer and "Dancing With the Stars" competitor recently stayed at the Marcel Hotel in Gramercy, "Staff were instructed to keep their eyes out for any Peeping Toms, checked who was staying in neighboring rooms and guarded her room," the newspaper reported.
Insurance executive Michael David Barrett pleaded guilty in December 2009 to secretly shooting nude videos of Andrews through a hotel peephole. He was sentenced last April to 2 1/2 years in prison.
Authorities said Barrett followed Andrews to at least three cities to gather his illicit video, which found its way onto the Internet.
At the time of the sentencing, Andrews said she feared for her life now when she enters a hotel.
She testified that she is constantly reminded that the videos appeared online and is subjected to taunts from the crowd when she works as a sideline reporter for ESPN.
