England struggles at 92-4 vs Pakistan at lunch in 4th test
LONDON (AP) England collapsed to 92-4 at lunch against Pakistan's seamers in the fourth test after captain Alastair Cook chose to bat on Thursday.
England lost three wickets for five runs on the opening day's first session with left-armer Wahab Riaz (2-7) having Joe Root and James Vince caught behind off sharp bouncing deliveries at the Oval.
Cook, dropped on 34, added only one more before dragging Sohail Khan's short-pitched delivery back onto his stumps as England, which has batting in depth, slipped from 69-1 to 74-4.
Riaz replaced injured Rahat Ali and all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed - who dropped Cook at first slip - made his test debut in place of opener Mohammad Hafeez.
England, which leads the four-match series 2-1, retained the same team from the third test.
